All prices are exclusive of VAT which will be charged at the operative rate at the time of despatch. Bretford reserve the right to charge prices effective at the date of despatch and to amend or modify prices without prior notice.
Payment terms are subject to account status.
All prices are ex-warehouse and carriage charges may be applicable, depending upon customer status and/or product. Bretford’s policy is to ensure provision of service(s) to meet their customers’ requirements and offer a one or three day delivery. Please note that combined quantity orders utilise maximum freight savings.

Orders may be specified for direct delivery to third party addresses.
Freight companies utilised are at Bretford’s discretion. Where routing is required by customer’s own carrier, this must be stated upon placement of order.
Standard delivery is to ground floor door only. Additional charges may be incurred for onsite delivery. Please contact Bretford on 01753 53 99 55 for rates and details.
Special Order Items
All non-stock/modified/large order items are treated as special orders and will not be considered for cancellation or return. Orders will be acknowledged as such and Bretford reserve the right to classify any product or large quantity orders as specials.
Carriage - Loss
Non-receipt/loss must be reported within three days of receipt of invoice.
Damage in Transit
The return of any unwanted goods must be notified within 14 days of delivery. Bretford are unable to accept any items not reported within this time period.
No goods will be accepted for return without prior authorisation. Agreed returns will be subject to a 30% restocking charge covering the cost of inspection, handling and repackaging, plus any return carriage charges involved. Any unpacked, used, or assembled item will not be considered for return.
All mains voltage products supplied in the UK are 220/240V 50Hz.

Terms & Conditions of Trading
All transactions are made and all orders are accepted subject to the following terms and conditions and no addition thereto or variation therein shall be made unless agreed in writing with Bretford Manufacturing Limited.
Validity of Quotations/Price Lists
The price quoted is for the quantity named in the quotation only and unless withdrawn or otherwise stated shall be valid for 60 days only from the date thereof. All quotations for goods to be delivered from stock are subject to these goods being unsold on receipt of order.
The prices quoted are subject to increase by the amount of any rise in the cost of materials and/or wages in the cost to the Seller, as the case may be, between the date of order acceptance and the date of delivery.
Unless otherwise stated by the Seller, all goods will be supplied ex Seller's works, additional delivery charges being passed onto the Buyer at actual cost or price list cost whichever is applicable.
Liability for Defects After Delivery
All warranties or conditions and any liability, as a result of defect or failure of the goods supplied, is limited at the Sellers discretion only, to making good by replacement or repair, defects arising in the course of proper use from faulty workmanship or material, if notified to the Seller in writing and the defective part is returned carriage paid to the Seller's premises within the period of any guarantee that may be given.
Liability for Damage
While every effort will be made by the Seller to advise on the correct application of goods sold, it remains the sole responsibility of the Buyer to ensure that the goods are used correctly. The Seller shall not be responsible for the failure of goods sold which may be due to any incorrect or inappropriate usage or for any consequences arising thereout.
The Seller shall not be liable for consequential damage or loss to person, property or otherwise.
The Seller shall not be liable for any damage in transit or shortage unless such damage or shortage is notified to the Seller and to the carriers by 10:00 a.m. of the next working day following receipt of the goods and the goods have been signed for as "not examined" and have been handled by the Buyer in accordance with the carriers' conditions.
Once an order has been accepted by the Seller, any costs incurred in the processing of that order will deem to have been authorised by the Buyer and the Seller reserves the right to recover these costs from the Buyer in the event that the order is subsequently cancelled or the goods returned as unwanted, and the Buyer shall also be liable to the Seller for loss of profit (if any) incurred by the Seller as a result of the cancellation or return of the goods.
Dates and times are not guaranteed and the Seller shall not be responsible for delays resulting from strikes, lockouts, works breakdowns, delay in transport, shortage of raw materials, Government regulations and restrictions or from any other cause whatsoever beyond the Seller's control. Should delivery be hindered, prevented or interfered with from any of such causes for a period exceeding six months beyond agreed delivery time, then the contract may be terminated, by either party, by notice in writing to the other, provided that such determination shall not affect any part of the contract as may have been already performed.
In the case of a contract calling for multiple deliveries, for the purposes of this clause only, each delivery shall be deemed to be sold under a separate contract, and failure by the Seller in respect of any one or more thereof shall not entitle the Buyer to treat such failure as a repudiation of any further deliveries.
Non delivery, in the case of total loss, must be notified in writing both to the Seller and to the carrier within three days of the date of despatch.
Delivery of the goods shall be deemed to take place when such goods are despatched by or on behalf of the Seller from the Seller's premises in the United Kingdom.
Risk of loss and damage shall pass from the Seller to the Buyer upon delivery to the carrier or when received by the Buyer's representative at the Seller's premises.
Terms of Payment
Unless otherwise agreed, payment for goods invoiced to the Buyer shall be made by the Buyer to the Seller nett of discount, within thirty days of the date shown on the invoice. Should the Buyer fail to meet these payment times, the Seller, at his discretion, shall be entitled to add interest to the outstanding amount at the rate of 8% above prevailing Seller's Bank lending rates of the time.
In the case of a contract calling for multiple deliveries, the failure of the Buyer to pay for any one or more deliveries shall entitle the Seller at his option and without prejudice to any other remedy, to cancel or withhold all further deliveries under the contract (and any other contracts with the Buyer) or to determine all such contracts with the Buyer.
Title to the goods shall remain with the Seller which reserves the right to dispose of the goods until payment in full for all the goods has been received by the Seller from the Buyer in accordance with the terms of this contract.
If the Buyer shall, before acquiring title, sell or otherwise dispose of the goods or make any insurance claim in respect thereof the Buyer shall not give any warranties or incur any liabilities on behalf of the Seller and the proceeds of any such sale, disposition or any insurance proceeds shall belong to the Seller and be held by the Buyer as trust funds to the extent of all sums due to the Seller in respect of the goods provided that on the transfer of such sums by the Buyer to the Seller title to the goods shall thereupon pass to the Buyer.
If the goods are incorporated by the Buyer into composite products such incorporation shall have no effect on the Seller's rights under paragraphs 10a and 10b.
Where the Buyer fails to make any payment when due or commits any act of bankruptcy, or being a Limited Company, winding-up proceedings are commenced by reason of insolvency, or any assignment is made for the benefit of or arrangement made with creditors, the Seller may repudiate this contract wholly or in part by written notice with immediate effect to the Buyer without prejudice to any part of the contract as may already have been performed and retain ownership rights on any equipment or parts already on Buyer's premises or in transit that are not paid for, and, further, the Seller shall have the right to enter the Buyer's premises or any premises under the Buyer's control or to which goods have been taken for the purpose of repossessing the goods.
In addition to any lien to which the Seller may by statute or otherwise be entitled the Sellers shall (on the occurrence of any of the events listed in subclause (d) above) be entitled to a general lien on all the goods belonging to the Buyer in the Seller's possession (although some or all of the goods may have been paid for) for the unpaid price of any other goods sold and delivered to the Buyer by the Sellers under any contract.
Any goods re-possessed by the Seller hereunder may be sold by the Seller on such terms as it may determine.
The price shown is subject to variation at any time before the goods are invoiced in the event of and in proportion to any currency revaluation, the intention being that the Seller shall not suffer any loss in any such event.
The Seller shall not be liable for loss or damage to any of the Buyer's patterns, drawings, specifications, articles or information of any kind supplied by the Buyer to the Seller where such loss or damage is occasioned by any cause beyond the control of the Seller.
The Buyer shall indemnify the Seller against all damage, penalties, costs and/or expenses arising out of the infringement of any patent or registered design or any claim in respect of an alleged infringement as aforesaid involved in the carrying out of work in accordance with the Buyer's order, pattern or specification.
If under the applicable rule of law any provisions of these terms and conditions shall be void or otherwise unenforceable these terms and conditions shall be void or as the case may be unenforceable to that extent but no further.
These terms and conditions are governed by English Law and subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
